PAPI Projects in Southern Brazil: Engeletrica Advances in Another Stage of Airport Modernization

Engeletrica was contracted by INFRAERO (Brazilian Company of Airport Infrastructure) to develop the Executive Projects and carry out the supply, installation, and upcoming commissioning of the Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) systems at airports included in Lot 05, covering the southern region of Brazil.


Our technical team has already completed the installations at the following airports:

✈️ Paranavaí Airport (Paraná)

✈️ Torres Airport – SSTE (Rio Grande do Sul)

✈️ Canela Airport – SSCN (Rio Grande do Sul)


The PAPI system is essential for ensuring safe landing operations, providing pilots with visual guidance on the ideal glide slope through a combination of white and red lights that change based on the aircraft’s position relative to the correct descent path.


The projects are in their final stage, with only the commissioning and certification by GEIV (Special Flight Inspection Group) remaining. This step will ensure the full compliance of the installed systems.
